Bo Tang was born in Anhui Province of China in 1964. He obtained a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 1994 from Nankai University. His current research interests focus on the synthesis of molecular and nano probes and their applications in biological imaging, green chemical production, solar chemical conversion and storage. Up to now, he has more than 500 papers published in peer-reviewed journals including Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Sci., Nano Lett., ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Chem. Commun., Anal. Chem.. His work has been cited in excess of 30000 times and the H-index is 95. He has won many awards, including the second prize of National Natural Science Award of China, the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award of China, the first prize of Natural Science Award of Shandong Province, and the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shandong Province. 44 national invention patents have been applied and 31 patents have been authorized. He has established 6 high-tech industrialization bases and cooperation bases, and more than 40 kinds of products have been developed, which achieved remarkable economic and social benefits. He has taken charge of a number of national projects, including the National Key Basic Research Program of China (973), the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Scientific Instrument Basic Research Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China.
